Gorgeous writing. Excellent review of the show.

Thanks for the review sir. It was definitely an interesting one. Loved that moment in Whats the Use where they brought it down to silence. Things got dissonant for sure in set two, which I absolutely love, but when things get sparse, like the WTU, I might love those moments more. Shows real patience.

Hey Andrew - great review. Great to see you again and meet your son! No mention of the end of BOTT - a little different from what I am used to - but havent studied every version like the writers on this site! Not quite a BOTT reprise but reminiscent of the my friend reprise on the last night of dicks..??

Looking forward to the next!

Steve! I mentioned the slight variation on the BOTT theme :) Still not convinced it was an explicit Dylan ref though!

Wonderful review, Andrew--eloquent and insightful.

Slave was amazing. Best version since....I have no idea. 2.0? Slave got very same-y to my ears during 3.0, has had a resurgence during 4.0, and that version was just believable. A truly satisfying, classic peak.

Blue light rain, whoa unbroken chain,
Looking for familiar faces in an empty window pane.
Listening for the secret, searching for the sound
But I could only hear the preacher and the baying of his hounds.
Willow sky, whoa, I walk and wonder why,
They say love your brother, but you will catch it when you try.
Roll you down the line boy, drop you for a loss,
Ride you out on a cold railroad and nail you to a cross.
November and more, as I wait for the score,
They're telling me forgiveness is the key to every door.
A slow winter day a night like forever,
Sink like a stone, float like a feather.
Lilac rain, unbroken chain, Song of the sawhet owl.
Out on the mountain, it'll drive you insane, Listening to the winds howl
Unbroken chain of sorrow and pearls, Unbroken chain of shy and sea.
Unbroken chain of the western wind, Unbroken chain of you and me.
